Monger is an early stage home improvement startup with a social purpose, aiming to simplify the home improvement process through a world class shopping experience. The platform also fosters an online community where interior designers and homeowners can connect and share ideas.
As the sole UI/UX designer on the team, I was responsible for designing the entire e-commerce website from start to finish. I worked closely with the founder and stakeholders to translate their vision into a practical and user friendly digital experience.
The primary challenge was to create a seamless and engaging shopping experience while also building a community space that encouraged collaboration between interior designers and homeowners.
Since the project was in its early stages, I focused primarily on creating wireframes and final mockups. I used my understanding of e-commerce best practices to build intuitive navigation, appealing product pages, and a cohesive visual style. While user research was not part of my responsibilities, I made design decisions based on industry standards and competitive analysis.
The final design was well-received by the team and stakeholders, laying the groundwork for a user friendly, community driven e-commerce platform. The project showcased my ability to independently manage a design process from concept to final mockups, despite limited resources and input.
Working on Monger Marketplace was a valuable experience in creating an e-commerce platform with a social purpose. The project helped me to sharpen my skills in balancing user experience with business goals while adapting to an early stage startup environment.
