15 Seconds of Fame (15SOF) – Redesigning the Ultimate Fan Experience

 

Overview:

15 Seconds of Fame (15SOF) is an AI-powered mobile app that delivers users their Jumbotron moments from live events using facial recognition technology. Whether at a major sports game or an entertainment venue, fans can relive their experiences instantly. As the company’s flagship product, 15SOF has been widely adopted across arenas and stadiums, earning the 2018 Best in Mobile Fan Experience Award by Sports Business Journal.

My Role:

As the Sr. UI/UX Lead, I was responsible for the end-to-end redesign and continuous optimization of the mobile experience. My work involved:

 

1. Complete UI/UX Redesign

  • Conducted a full UI facelift, introducing a modern color palette, typography, and refined iconography for a more polished and intuitive experience
  • Streamlined navigation and interactions to enhance user engagement and simplify the retrieval of Jumbotron moments
  • Developed a design system to maintain consistency across the app and future feature expansions

 

2. Personalized Event Recommendations

  • Introduced a “Favorite Teams” feature under user profiles, allowing fans to personalize their app experience
  • Designed an algorithm-driven event recommendation system that surfaces relevant sports events on the Events screen based on user preferences
  • Implemented a push notification strategy to keep fans informed about upcoming games featuring their favorite teams, increasing engagement and retention

 

 

 

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Iteration

  • Worked closely with engineering, product management, and marketing teams to align user needs with business objectives
  • Conducted user testing and feedback loops to refine features and improve usability
  • Supported post-launch optimizations, ensuring long-term app success and high user satisfaction
