Throughout my design career, I’ve often been asked by the clients if I could design some icon sets to fit the project I work at the time. I started out my career as a graphic designer and illustrator with a solid art background, so illustrating icons is usually not too hard of a job for me. As a designer, as long as you have an understanding of basic icon design principles of consistency, legibility, and clarity, with some illustration skills, your work can always meet the client’s expectations. 🙂
